Anti Anxiety Medication - What Works?
I have anxiety, depression, and delusions; anyone ever dropped a gum wrapper and thought it could kill?
Everyone I talk to tries to put me on anti anxiety medications without really even listening to the issue, especially my PCP and a few shrinks.
Has anyone taken any specific anti anxiety medications that have helped with this?

Depression and Anxiety Disorder - Double Trouble
According to a recent issue of Psychology Today, clinicians and researchers are currently moving toward the conclusion that depression and anxiety disorder may not be two disorders that coexist, but two faces of one disorder.
"The genetics seem to be the same. The psychological and biological natures of the vulnerability seem to be the same. It's just that some people with the vulnerability react with anxiety to life stressors. Some people, in addition, go beyond that to become depressed."
It makes sense that severe anxiety can lead to depression. After all if your mind is crippled by fear you are not likely to be happy or think positive thoughts.

Anti Anxiety Medication and School
My doctor told me that it wouldn't be a good idea for me to begin anti anxiety medications while I was still in College because it can mess with me more than help.
I don't agree with your doctor.
I would recommend starting them between semesters, though, because they affect everyone differently, and some of them can be not so great.

Separation Anxiety Torments Children and Their Parents
Five-year old Jessica seemed relatively calm about her first day in kindergarten and her parents had no reason to suspect that separation anxiety would be a problem. She smiled sweetly as her father snapped her picture while she was getting into the car in her shiny new shoes with her hair in pigtails and a pink Dora the Explorer backpack in her arms.
A few minutes later the same little girl was standing at the door to her new classroom, crying hysterically, screaming, clutching the hem of her mother's skirt and begging not to be left alone in her new surroundings.
Not wanting to go to school can occur anytime but it is most common in children 5-7 and 11-14, times when children are dealing with the new challenges of elementary school and middle school.

Dog has Separation Anxiety Disorder
My dog has severe separation anxiety; he freaks every time someone leaves the house (friend or stranger, even if I stay).
I tried discipline, reassurance, rewards for calm, nothing works.
The panic attacks and barking are upsetting for him and me. I am stay-at-home mom to him, walk him 4/5 short walks/day, have another dog he gets along with. I just don't know what to do about this really bad separation anxiety.

How to Make Parents Understand Separation Anxiety?
I talked to his mom and asked her help by talking to her son about new faces, new school, etc. I even gave her pamphlets, books, and info about this case. But she never listened to it.
I offered to visit their home along with the other teachers to get to know the boy better outside school, but she declined. She's starting to get on my nerves. Now she's threatening to transfer the boy to another school if we can�t do anything to make him be independent. What shall I do?
