Anxiety Help - Fight Anxiety Attacks with Logic

Fight Anxiety Attacks with Logic

You are in control of your thoughts. If you allow anxiety and boredom to dominate your thinking, eventually your mental state will compromise your physical health.

Make sure you exercise. Walking is just fine, you don't need to do more than walk for 20-30 minutes 3-4 days a week; but if you can do more, you'll be amazed at how rarely you'll feel bored or anxious.

When I get overwhelmed and feel an anxiety attack coming on or things are not working out, I stop what I'm doing and go for a walk. After several years of going for a walk, starting with 1/2 mile, I now hike 3-10 miles a day, 5 days a week. My problems are the same as always, but my ability to prioritize and solve problems has vastly improved from a few simple changes.

Anxiety & Depression from Impaired Blood Flow

According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will sometimes do strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream.

Anxiety and depression are two symptoms that can also be due to chronic low blood sugar.

Check out the symptoms link at www.hufa.org to find out more symptoms that also may be low blood sugar related. There is an article on that site that gives some hints on what can be done for low blood sugar.

I have two beautiful Weimaraners that both have exceptionally bad separation anxiety. I have only left them once for a weekend. During that time they were left in my home with my parents (that they know and trust) living in my home. They stopped eating and developed loose stool during this time.

Quite often the same anti anxiety drugs that we humans take it is basically the same thing for an animal.

Take them to your vet and he should know the best anti anxiety medication and dosage of that medication to give the dogs.

Anxiety Help - Anxiety Disorder Cripples Lives

Anxiety Disorder Cripples Lives

Anxiety disorder illnesses can fill people's lives with overwhelming anxiety and fears that are chronic, unrelenting and grow progressively worse. Anxiety disorders cause sufferers to feel a sense of constant worry, tension and impending doom.

Fortunately, through research supported by the National Institute of Mental Health, there are some effective treatments that can help. In fact, anxiety disorder is the most treatable form of mental illness. Treatment typically involves a combination of medication and therapy.

"Through extensive research and applying the techniques I learned, I came out of my nightmare and learned how to deal with stress and anxiety. And now, having recovered my stability and mastered the skills necessary to deal with life's more stressful events, I want to share with you what I've found. I know that what brought me out of the fog will help you out, too."

Can Environment be a Cause of Anxiety?

I totally agree that environment can cause anxiety.

My opinion is that people are very good at screwing up everything they come into contact with. Nature is perfection itself; unspoiled by our imperfection.

Being constantly reminded of our imperfection by all the concrete, aluminum, and buzzing electricity only aggravates our anxiety.

Anxiety Help - Lab Has Separation Anxiety

Lab Has Separation Anxiety

I have a five year-old female lab. I cannot leave her at my parents home in the fenced yard which is a huge farm. When I go in the house she freaks out and starts jumping on the windows and sliding door until I get back out there. When Im outside with her she is fine; she practically ignores me and plays or brings me the ball to throw.

Yes, she IS terribly afraid she is going to be separated from you. Having other dogs or people around doesn't mean the dog cannot suffer from separation anxiety, even in their presence, because the problem stems from her emotional dependence on you.

1. Read the book, I'll Be Home Soon by Patricia McConnell. You can order it from Amazon for about $6. It's a quick read and will give you better background on separation anxiety.
